If the Cancer Help Center had a beating heart, it would be the Classroom.

We host a variety of educational opportunities and discussions that focus on the health of the body as well as the mind. They are designed for educating, encouragement, reducing anxiety, depression, pain, and fatigue. Topics range from crafting, painting, journaling, pet therapy, nutrition, cooking, even gardening. Our J. Leighton Green Jr. Classroom hosts one time classes and events, while our Wellness Activity Center hosts monthly Animal Therapy, Tai Chi, Yoga Therapy, and Tea Tasting and Conversation. Classes are free and open to anyone, but some may require you to sign up in advance so please click on the calendar button for details.

Become a Presenter

We welcome partners, presenters, and instructors who offer healthy lifestyle education for cancer patients and those who support them. We hope that you will volunteer your services free of charge. If that is not possible, we will attempt to find sponsors to cover your fee. The cost of all materials will be covered by the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation. We hope you will join us!

Meeting Rooms

Face-to-face community support and vital educational information are a powerful combination. That’s why we offer two spacious, well-appointed meeting rooms to businesses and professional organizations seeking to support our important mission. The Edmunds Conference Room has seating for 25, and our J. Leighton Green, Jr. Classroom seats 30.

Rooms are available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, excluding holidays. Evening and Saturday use are considered on a case-by-case basis. In lieu of a room fee, organizations are asked to donate to the Foundation. Finally, note that reservations are required two weeks in advance.
